Once again this year, our grade 5 students will be participating in the Middle Years Development Survey.  The MDI is a self-report questionnaire completed by children in Grade 5 and Grade 7. The questionnaire includes questions related to the five areas of development that are strongly linked to well-being, health and academic achievement. The overall health and well-being of children in their middle years affects their ability to concentrate and learn, develop and maintain friendships, and make thoughtful decisions. Although middle childhood is a time of risk, it is also a time of opportunity. This survey aligns perfectly with the information we are currently gathering from parents about student well-being, social-emotional learning and connectedness.
