From time to time, but rarely, and for a variety of reasons, have students who miss school for extended periods of time. Sometimes this is for reasons associated with family plans, family business, or family vacations. Sometimes, it is due to illness and sometimes parents choose to keep their children at home, and those reasons are not shared with us. We do not have a procedure for granting students a “leave of absence”. Rather it is assumed that parents will make decisions in the best interests of their own child.
